Chelsea Joy Handler, born 25 February 1975 at Livingston New Jersey, is the youngest of six children. Handler was the eldest of six children in the family. Handler was the daughter of a car salesman and housewife. Her mother immigrated to the United States in 1958, as an immigrant from Germany. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989, and died after battling cancer for 10 years. Handler's father was Jewish, and she was educated within Reform Judaism. Handler resided in a beautiful community with a wonderful upbringing. When she was 19, she made the move into Los Angeles, California to take on a profession in acting. Handler was a professional actress to support her. Her ability to tell stories was uncovered at 21. Handler then decided to make a full-time commitment to stand-up comedy. Handler's stand-up career began when she was part of an all-female Oxygen TV show in the reality show with a hidden camera and practical humor series Girls Behaving Unsteadily. The show ran from 2002 until 2005. Handler began appearing on different shows such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler started her career as a correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler received her first big break as she hosted her E! Show in 2006. The Chelsea Handler Program. The show ran for a total of two seasons. Handler was a part of the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the following year in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend & HBO have aired Handler's stand-up performance. In 2010, she was confirmed as host of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. She was the only female host in history following Roseanne.
